About the Design

With an unbelievable view of the water and enough space for their family, Joe and Darlene thought why not turn our beach cottage into our forever home? With the help of The Kitchen Company designer, Gail Bolling, they were able to take their choppy first floor and create a beautiful open concept centered around the kitchen of their dreams.

Coming up with the floor plan for this job was the most challenging. The home was made up of smaller rooms pieced together and had an extra bathroom and a pantry. There were multiple support beams that needed to be kept in place, but we still wanted to create the open concept that the homeowners desired. The solution ended up being to remove the bathroom and the old pantry and hide the four support beams in a new pantry that also became the end of the peninsula.

Cabinet Details

The kitchen cabinetry is manufactured by WoodMode cabinetry with the inset door style Lewisburg Recessed in the finish Nordic White. The countertops are Viatera Minuet Quartz in a satin finish and all the hardware is from Top Knobs. As part of the homeowner's wish list, we were able to incorporate a professional style wolf range and large subzero refrigerator a well as a bar into the design.

This crisp, clean kitchen design now fits seamlessly with the rest of Joe and Darlene's cottage home. The white cabinetry, cool tones, and nautical accents are perfect for any home on the coast.
